The Murder of Roger Ackroyd Uncovered!

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd Uncovered!

Thanks to a grant from National Lottery Arts Council England, we are proud to collaborate with The Writers Block, MED Theatre, Doorstep Arts and Torre Abbey to offer Torbay schools 30 full days of creative activity in 2026 free of charge. We are taking as our inspiration both Agatha Christie's skill at writing character, plot and mystery and her love of Dartmoor.

The Murder of Rogers Ackroyd Uncovered! Study Day is designed for Torbay school students aged 14+ (Years 10-13)

Agatha Christie's novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is part of Elements of Crime Writing, a module within the English Literature GCSE A Level curriculum. Whether or not your school has chosen this particular module for your students, this inspiring and practical workshop will help set the pace for critical thinking about English language fiction.

Working with two professional authors and facilitators, Agatha Christie Festival is delighted to offer young people at secondary schools or colleges in Torbay an opportunity to join us for an entertaining and instructive critical read of Christie's ground-breaking novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The 'day' will take place at Palace Theatre, Paignton.

Copies of the book will be provided to participants with grateful thanks to HarperCollins UK.

Date during the Autum Term 2026 and further details to follow. If your school or college would like to take part or to find out more information at the earliest possible date, please email info@iacf-uk.org or look out for an invitation closer to the time.
