Free literature study session for KS4 and KS5 students at Torbay schools and colleges
Monday 18 January 2027 | 10.00 am–1.00 pm | Torquay Museum
Your students are invited to a free half-day exploration of two classic crime novels: Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (1926) and Graham Greene's Brighton Rock (1938).
Led by Agatha Christie expert Gray Robert Brown, this lively and engaging session will give students the opportunity to compare and contrast two distinctive approaches to crime writing.
Both novels feature as optional set texts in AQA's A-level English Literature B specification, within 'Elements of crime writing'. Students do not need to be studying either novel or following this specification to benefit from attending.
Copies of both books will be provided free of charge to participating students and sent to your school or college ahead of the session.
To book places for your students or find out more, email Liz at education@iacf-uk.org.
This session is part of Agatha Christie Festival's charitable mission to advance literacy and inspire a love of reading among young people in Torbay.
Supported by Arts Council England using funding from the National Lottery.
