After the success of last year’s Mix and Mingle, we are delighted to bring back this popular, and free, social event which is the perfect chance to meet fellow festival-goers over a drink or two.
This year, the event will be held in the glamorous bar of the Imperial Hotel which is steeped in the Christie-verse. The Imperial was the inspiration for hotels in three of Agatha Christie’s novels: Peril at End House, The Body in the Library, and in the final scenes of Sleeping Murder the Imperial is where Miss Marple had taken Gwenda for a rest cure. Poirot actor extraordinaire David Suchet was also a regular visitor
There’s no formal entertainment — just a warm, informal evening to socialise, make connections, and chat with members of the Festival team, who’ll be on hand to answer any questions.
The Imperial Hotel, Torquay, Park Hill Road, TQ1 2DG From 7.30pm
The Imperial Torquay stands on a hill above the harbour, looking out over Torbay. From here, it is a short walk to the seafront, town centre and local attractions, with good connections to wider Devon and the South West and many tourists attractions.
Please note: Although the Mysterious Mix and Mingle is a free event, places will still need to be booked. We are planning to open bookings two weeks before the Festival, so people will have a better idea of their schedules and whether they can definitely make the events.
