Amber is often seen on television in shows such as Great British Sewing Bee sharing her extensive knowledge on the history of fashion. For many Christie fans, it is the costumes and fashions in the TV and film adaptations that epitomise the glamour of the Golden Age of crime fiction. However, there is a deeper connection between these fashions and Christie's texts.

2026 marks 100 years since the publication of Agatha Christie's brilliant The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. It became the novel that catapulted the already well-known Christie into the stratosphere of crime writing. Its shocking twist not only displayed Christie's clever plotting, but her ability to 'play fair' with the reader revealed her true mastery of the craft.

Somewhat fortuitously for the Agatha Christie Festival, Roger Ackroyd was murdered on 17th September and so we are dedicating this day to celebrating Agatha Christie's brilliant novel.
