Agatha Christie Festival 2022

The start of the 2022 festival followed the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen a few days earlier. But with people travelling from across the UK and the rest of the world, we felt that continuing with most of the festival in a respectful manner was the right thing to do.

Torre Abbey hosted an excellent exhibition of costumes from Agatha Christie adaptations, including those worn by Maggie Smith, Bette Davis, Angela Lansbury, Emily Blunt and Judi Dench. We were also joined by Lucy Worsley to launch her new biography, Agatha Christie: An Elusive Woman, while Elly Griffiths, Dreda Say Mitchell and Kate Mosse talked about their contributions to Marple: Twelve New Stories. There were also a number of events to mark the 100th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s Grand Tour and some fun fringe events including the AB Sea Murders boat trip, the Agatha Christie Sea Swim and a What’s Your Poison? cocktail evening.
